Court nullifies section of new Electoral Act prohibiting political appointees from voting in party conventions, congresses

Federal High Court in Umuahia, Abia State, on Friday struck down an innovation captured in section 84(12) of the recently amended Electoral Act. The novel statutory provision had prohibited political appointees from voting as delegates in party conventions or congresses for the election or nomination of candidates. Head, Soludo Media Office, Joe Anatune, has said the swearing-in of the Anambra State governor-elect, Chukwuma Soludo, would be low-keyed. INEC releases revised timetable for party primaries, campaign, 2023 elections

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has released the schedule of activities for the 2023 general election.
