Omowunmi, wife of former Governor Bisi Akande of Osun State, is dead. She died yesterday at the University College Hospital in Ibadan. She was aged 73. The cause of death has not been revealed by the family. Electricity consumers in the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, may soon enjoy improved power supply, as Abuja Electricity Distribution Company, AEDC, commissioned two new transmission stations in Abuja on Monday. Officials in South Africa say four male lions escaped from the country's biggest wildlife reserve and were spotted in a nearby village. The national parks service says rangers are searching for the lions, who escaped from Kruger National Park on Sunday night. The lions were seen in Matsulu village and authorities are asking residents to be vigilant. In May, officials rounded up several lions that escaped from the same park. Thousands of commuters were stranded on Monday at various Bus Rapid Transport, BRT, bus stops and terminals in Lagos following a protest embarked upon by the bus drivers across the state.
