Another National Assembly member dies

A member of House of Representatives, Abdullahi Wammako, is dead. Mr. Wamakko represented Kware/Wammako federal constituency of Sokoto State. He died at National hospital after a brief illness, spokesman of the House, Abdulrazak Namdas, announced. “We just got the information that we lost Abdullahi Wammako from Sokoto” Mr. Namdas said. Mr. Wammako is the second member of the National Assembly to die in three months. Isiaka Adeleke, a senator from Osun State, died in April. PT 
A team of policemen on Friday afternoon raided the country home of Mohammed Bello Adoke, former attorney general of the federation, in Okene, Kogi state. The team, made up of over 20 police officers, arrived the home of the senior advocate with a search warrant from Abuja. They were said to be looking for money and unspecified documents in septic tanks as well as underground water tanks. Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, on Friday disclosed that over 2.3 million youths have so far applied for the 300,000 jobs that are still available under the Federal Government’s N-Power scheme since the portal was reopened in June. Osinbajo disclosed this to journalists when he visited the scheme’s Response Centre in Abuja. Under the scheme, which is one of the components of the government’s Social Investment Programme, 500,000 youths are expected to be engaged. A Nigerian passenger on Emirates Airlines on Wednesday slumped and died on arrival at the international wing of the Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. The passenger, who arrived on the aircraft with registration number EK783 (DX), was identified as Dr Olusola Dada with passport number A04501199. Spokesperson for Lagos Airport Police Command, DSP Joseph Alabi, confirmed the incident on Thursday. Acting President, Yemi Osinbajo, has directed Minister of Finance, Kemi Adeosun, to immediately release N1.6 billion for 16 states ravaged by floods across the country. Four Boko Haram suicide bombers killed 19 people in a series of attacks that targeted a civilian self-defense force and the people who gathered to mourn their deaths, police said Wednesday. It was the deadliest attack in months in the northeastern city of Maiduguri, the birthplace of Boko Haram's eight-year insurgency.
