Nigerian air force killed dozens in attacks on villages - Amnesty

Nigeria's air force killed at least 35 people in attacks on villages in the northeastern state of Adamawa in December, Amnesty International said in a report on Tuesday. Residents of the villages described being fired upon by a fighter jet and military helicopter as they attempted to flee, at the same time as hundreds of herdsmen took part in a revenge attack on the communities for earlier killings, Amnesty said. Power grid collapses six times in eight days

The national electricity grid collapsed six times within a period of eight days this month, latest data from Transmission Company of Nigeria has revealed. According to the generation statistics of the Nigeria Electricity System Operator, an arm of TCN, the national grid collapsed six times between January 1 and January 8. FG extradites 47 separatists to Cameroon

Cameroon's minister of communications says 47 suspected separatists and leaders of a group that declared the independence of English-speaking regions have been extradited from Nigeria. Issa Tchiroma Bakary said those extradited arrived in Cameroon on Monday. He said among them were Julius Ayuk Tabe, who in October proclaimed himself the president of Ambazonia. Tabe and nine others were arrested in Abuja in January. Bakary said the others arrested in Nigeria and extradited were being trained to return to Cameroon and fight. West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it is set for the conduct of its newly introduced January/February West African Senior School certificate Examination (WASSCE) for private candidates.
