FG approves recruitment of 5,000 personnel for NDLEA

Chairman, National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA), Mr Muhammad Abdallah, says President Muhammadu Buhari has approved recruitment of 5,000 personnel for the agency to boost its manpower. Abdallah made the disclosure on Friday at the Public Destruction of Drug Exhibits by Taraba Command of NDLEA in Jalingo. FAAN suspends security heads over man who got on wing of aircraft at Lagos airport

A yet-to-be-identified man was on Friday arrested for climbing an aircraft at Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos. Passengers aboard a Port Harcourt-bound Azman Airline flight shot a video of the man who illegally gained access to the airside and tried to climb into the aircraft said to be waiting for clearance to take off. Senior army officer, 5 others soldiers die in fierce battle that killed several Boko Haram insurgents

Six soldiers, including two officers, who fought to repel a Boko Haram attack on Wednesday were killed by the insurgents. One of the victims was a colonel and another a captain. Several Boko Haram fighters were also killed by Nigerian soldiers. Northern coalition threatens Buhari over herdsmen in southern Nigeria

Reps reject motion to include Almajiri system in basic education

House of Representatives at plenary on Thursday unanimously rejected the prayer of a motion seeking to make Federal Ministry of Education integrate Almajiri education system into the Universal Basic Education programme.
