Ex-Niger state Governor, Kure is dead

Former governor of Nigeria's North Central state, Niger, Eng. Abdulkadir Kure, is dead. He was aged 60. Kure was governor of Niger state on the platform of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) between 1999 and 2007. Kure, who has been ill and flown to Germany for medical attention, died today in a German hospital. He is survived by his wife, Senator Zainab Kure, who represented Niger state in the Senate of the Federal Republic between 2007 and 2015.
Adamawa Police Command on Sunday confirmed the killing of three Mobile Policemen and the disappearance of two others in an attack by suspected herdsmen in Demsa Local Government Area of the state.
