Airport workers threaten strike while Abuja runway gets repaired

Nigerian airport employees may walk out over pay issues at the capital's temporary airport while the main airport's runway is being repaired, their trade union said on Saturday. Abuja airport runway had deteriorated to such an extent that some major international airlines had refused to fly there, and some aircraft reported damage to their undercarriage. Six police officers get promotion for rejecting bribe

Police Service Commission (PSC) has promoted six senior police officers for rejecting huge sums of money offered as bribe to compromise them in the course of doing their duties. Boko Haram kills 7 new army recruits, abducts female soldier

Boko Haram insurgents ambushed a convoy of new recruits in northeast Nigeria, killing seven troops and abducting a female soldier, the Nigerian military and a self-defense commander said Friday. Minister of Information and Culture, Lai Mohammed, yesterday warned on a plot by a Boko Haram affiliate group, the Muslim Brotherhood in Kogi State, to attack banks, army depots and prisons in the country.
