In exercise of the presidential authorities, Acting President Yemi Osinbajo on Thursday signed three executive orders that will significantly change some of the ways government business and operations are conducted in the country forthwith. Students in public boarding schools are fed with an average of N200 a day per student, Daily Trust investigations have shown. This fact contrasts sharply with what their leaders at the national and state levels spend to feed themselves as reflected in their annual budgets. Following the revelation by Chief of Army Staff (COAS), Lt.-Gen. Tukur Buratai, of attempts by some politicians to infiltrate the military, Nigerian Army said Thursday that it was yet to make any arrests. Buratai on Tuesday had warned officers and soldiers of the Nigerian Army to steer clear of politics and politicians, whom he claimed were attempting to influence them. Tragedy has struck the Maikanti’s family once again. Group Managing Director (GMD) of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr Maikanti Baru, has lost his son. Earlier in April, his mother, Hajiya Fatima Baru, died in her hometown of Misau in Bauchi State. The son died in Dubai, it was reported thursday evening. Baru’s sister had died weeks ago on the eve of his trip to Houston, Texas United States, for the OTC conference. Last year, some guests attending his daughter’s wedding died in an accident.
