Suspended deputy national chairman (North) of opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr Babayo Gamawa, has joined governing All Progressives Congress (APC). Gamawa was suspended by PDP Monday over allegations of dereliction of duty and anti-party activities. National publicity secretary of PDP, Mr Kola Ologbondiyan, who announced the suspension, said Gamawa was suspended by the National Working Committee. Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has said it would only do a nationwide pilot electronic transmission (e-collation) of results in the forthcoming general elections. INEC Chairman, Mr Mahmood Yakubu, disclosed this in his opening remarks at the Commission’s regular quarterly meeting with the media on Tuesday in Abuja. Ahead of the general elections, British Broadcasting Corporation (BBC) Africa has said it would host governorship debates in 10 states across Nigeria. The debate will be conducted in four languages- Yoruba, Hausa, Igbo and Pidgin. A federal high court in Port Harcourt on Monday nullified both the direct and indirect primaries conducted by two factions of All Progressives Congress (APC) in Rivers State.
