FG has abandoned us, say NDDC scholarship beneficiaries

Some beneficiaries of the scholarship scheme put in place by the federal government through Niger Delta Development Commission, NDDC, have alleged that the commission has abandoned them. The scholars, who craved anonymity, said they had been subjected to unfair and inhuman treatment by the commission since 2016. The affected beneficiaries are Masters and PhD students of Niger Delta origin who won the scholarship awards in 2014 and 2015. Buhari appoints Tunde Lemo, 12 others into FERMA board

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the appointment of a 13-member Governing Board for Federal Roads Maintenance Agency, FERMA. He also approved appointment of Managing Director of Nigeria Electricity Management Service Agency, NEMSA. Kachikwu vs Baru: Heavy security at NNPC headquarters

There was heavy security presence at the headquarters of Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation, Abuja on Friday. Armed security men from Nigeria Police Force and the Army were sighted at the entrance of the oil firm, while police pickup vans and armoured personnel carriers were conspicuously stationed on both sides of the roads that lead to NNPC. NEMA zonal coordinator dies in hotel room

Management of the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, on Friday announced the death of its North-East Zonal Coordinator, Mr Abdulsalam Muhammed. Mr Sani Datti, Head Media and Public Relations, made the announcement in a statement issued in Maiduguri. Buhari meets Kachikwu today over allegations against NNPC GMD

The President will today meet Minister of State for Petroleum Resources Mr Emmanuel Ibe Kachikwu. The minister has alleged that $25billion contracts have been wrongly awarded by Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) Group Managing Director Mr Maikanti Baru. Reps order Magu’s arrest over Patience Jonathan

A House of Representatives panel yesterday issued an arrest warrant against Acting Chairman of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC), Mr Ibrahim Magu, for refusing to appear before it on a petition by former first lady, Patience Jonathan. The committee on public petitions said Magu should be arrested and presented before it on November 7, after his failure to appear before the panel despite several invitations. Ebonyi govt begins registration of IPOB members

Ebonyi State government has begun data capturing and registration of members of Indigenous People of Biafra, IPOB, living in the state.
