Lagos bans cart pushers, wheelbarrow operators

Lagos State Government on Saturday announced a ban on the operations of cart pushers and wheelbarrow operators, saying their activities are inimical to the environmental cleanliness of the state. Secretary to the State Government, Mr Tunji Bello, made this known in a statement in Lagos. Bello said that with the flag off of the Cleaner Lagos Initiative, the continuous activities of cart pushers would pose a threat to the success of the initiative. ASUU warns striking non-academic unions against attack on members

Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has called on non-teaching labour unions of universities not to harass or intimidate its members. National President of the union, Mr Biodun Ogunyemi, a professor, made the call on Saturday in Lagos. Ikpeazu rejects cattle colony in Abia State

Taraba State Governor, Mr. Darius Ishaku, has said the state anti-open grazing law is not targeted at any religious group or tribe. Another nationwide power outage looms as explosion hits major gas pipeline in Delta

An explosion ruptured a major Nigerian gas pipeline on Thursday, the state oil firm said in a statement, days after the same line was repaired following damage from a fire that shut it down earlier this month. Escarvos-Lagos Pipeline was hit by an explosion along Egbokodo-Omadino in the Warri region of Delta state, Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) said. Legal Practitioners Privileges Committee, LPPC, on Thursday announced the withdrawal of the title of Senior Advocate of Nigeria from two lawyers for misconduct.
