FG lists conditions for reopening schools, varsities

Ahead of the reopening of universities and others, Federal Government has listed six conditions to be met by each school. It said the six conditions are to protect pupils and students against Coronavirus. It also asked all heads of schools to start putting measures in place to meet the terms. Among other conditions, the government is demanding decontamination of all schools and new class sizes which will accommodate social and physical distancing. India soldiers killed in clash with Chinese forces

Three Indian soldiers have been killed in a clash with Chinese forces in Ladakh in the disputed Kashmir region. The deaths are the first in the disputed border area in at least 45 years, and follow rising military tensions between the nuclear powers. FG receives N1.6b Covid-19 donations in two months

Federal Government on Monday announced that a total of N1,689,757,489.87 was received as Covid-19 donations from April 1 to May 31, 2020. It said the funds were received through designated commercial bank accounts and Central Bank of Nigeria/Treasury Single Account. Oyo State Government has further relaxed the coronavirus curfew in the state and also directed final year students in schools to resume on June 29. Mr Oladipo Akinkugbe, emeritus Professor of Medicine, is dead. The foremost Nigerian professor of Medicine at University College Hospital, Ibadan, died at the age of 86. Florida protester Oluwatoyin Salau, 19, found dead after going missing

Oluwatoyin Salau, a 19-year-old protester who begged for justice in the wake of Black lives lost, has died. Her family confirmed the death Monday morning. Coronavirus death rate 12 times higher for those with chronic illnesses

Death rates are 12 times higher for Coronavirus patients with chronic illnesses than for others who become infected, a new U.S. government report says. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention report released Monday highlights the dangers posed by heart disease, diabetes and lung ailments.
