Retrenchment: Kaduna govt, NLC reach agreement

Kaduna State Government and Nigeria Labour Congress have reached an agreement on the plan by the state government to lay off workers. NLC has since Monday led workers to protest against the plan by the Kaduna government to lay off the workers. The late Thursday agreement between the two parties was brokered by the federal government in Abuja. Ogun seals gas outlet as explosions killed 11 within 9 days

Barely 24 hours after two lives were lost in an explosion that hit the Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, another gas explosion has occurred in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital leaving two persons injured. Ibrahim Attahiru, Lt.Gen and Chief of Army Staff, has died in a plane crash. Details of the incident are still sketchy but a military source said it happened in Kaduna this evening (Friday). Governors call for full deregulation of fuel prices

Governors of the 35 states have called for a full deregulation of the country’s downstream oil sector so that pump price floats with global oil prices, as the West African nation cannot sustain a subsidy regime to keep fuel price stable, they said.
