Terrorists kill 25 in Borno community

Members of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) have reportedly killed 25 scavengers, otherwise known as ‘Yan Ajakuta’, in Dikwa LGA of Borno state. The scavengers were reportedly killed in Mukdala village, located about 10 kilometres north to Dikwa town on Wednesday. The victims were shot by insurgents who rode on six motorcycles. Takno Ibrahim, a member of a civilian joint task force in the state, said the deceased were shot multiple times. Survivors of an attack by unknown assailants on a Catholic church in Nigeria lay weeping and writhing in pain at a local hospital on Monday after suffering what a doctor described as lacerations, bullet wounds and blast injuries. Over 40 people have been reportedly killed in an attack on St Francis Catholic Church, Owa-luwa Street, in Owo town, Owo Local Government Area of Ondo State. A Nigerian man was burned to death by a mob in the capital Abuja on Saturday following an argument with a Muslim cleric, police said. Josephine Adeh, police spokesperson for Abuja, said Ahmad Usman had an argument with an unidentified cleric, which turned violent.
