Members of Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) occupied the streets of Kaduna for the strike declared against the state government over what the union described as anti-labour policies.

NLC declared strike after Kaduna state government failed to reverse the mass sack of workers.

The train station at Rigasa was shut down, while the state secretariat, which houses 10 ministries, was put under lock and key.

Officials of different workers group enforced compliance with the strike.

Before the workers hit the streets, Ayuba Sulieman, NLC Chairman in Kaduna, addressed members of affiliated unions.

Ayuba Wabba, NLC President, later joined the protesters at the state secretariat of the union.
