With heavy heart, we announce the passing of one of Nigeria's erudite scholars, reservoir of knowledge and an International expert in Nigeria's Energy sector, Mr David Aderibigbe, a professor of energy mix, on Monday, September 16, 2019, at the age of 69, after a brief illiness.

Aderibigbe was the first to corporately explore the Ocean Renewable Energy System (OES) and Ocean Thermal Energy Conversion (OTEC) as pre-development assessment initiative/activities at technical workshop sessions with Foreign governments, International Agencies/ Professional bodies, and relevant agencies of Federal Government of Nigeria.

His leading professional activities in this sector within international organisation/Agency/Corporations: International Energy Agency-IEA, Ocean Energy System-OES, Lockheed Martin & AMBRI of USA, African Development Bank (AfDB) and Nigerian Institute of Oceanography and Marine Research (NIOMR) including Renewable Energy Division (RED) of NNPC, Energy Commission of Nigeria, Nigeria Energy Regulatory Commission (NERC), NIMASA, Nigerian Navy, Rural Energy Agency, and the Renewable Energy Department of Federal Ministry of Power amongst others, have indeed qualified and  placed Nigeria as the best location in the world for the generation of Ocean Energy Resource, Utility Scale Solar PV, Concentrated Solar Power-CSP and Small Scale Wind Turbine into renewable energy and other foreign exchange multi products earners beyond Oil & Gas for Nigeria respectively.

He was on the verge of successful breaking and launching of a unique Multi-Mega Watt Battery Storage capacity energy product for heavy electricity consumer- users for his country - Nigeria, that he loved so much, which he had been working on, with other professionals in the United States of America in the last 5 years.

The entire professional family of Fot-K Consortium (home and abroad) where he was one of the Project Development Directors, mourn him with regret.

Burial arrangements will soon be announced by his family.
