“For I will restore health unto thee, and I will heal thee of thy wounds, saith the LORD .....” ~ Jeremiah 30:17.
Introduction
The God of the Bible does not wish that His people be terrorized in any way - physically, spiritually, socially, emotionally, politically or financially. He didn’t create us to function under fear; hence, whenever fear grips the heart, hope grows dim.
In the fiery duel of Goliath against Israel, until David showed up courageously, victory remained tucked away. But, when he confronted Goliath and overcame him decisively, his pathway to the throne became clearly even.
At another time, the Amalekites invaded and completely ravaged the dominion headquarters of David in Ziglag. He saw the smoke of the conflagration, but he pursued the nomadic plunderers with the strength of the Lord and in the vigour of the Holy Spirit, and he came out clearly victorious (1 Samuel 30:1-20).
Confrontation is the only valid pathway between two irreconcilable kingdoms. You must show up, and confront the untoward situations and the undesirable circumstances of your life, if you must settle down and enjoy supernatural recovery. And, whatever your deep water is, you can still conquer the conquerors. However, you must make up your mind and follow the steps that lead to victories by faith in Christ Jesus.
Encourage Yourself in the Lord
To recover all that life’s battles had taken away from you, you have to encourage yourself to take drastic steps that will enhance your victory. You must be decisive and aggressive in faith, fiercely confronting the enemies to win. You may have failed many times before, but you must encourage yourself and try again. Don't give up, your victory is nigh.
At that time, David was greatly distressed, not only on his own personal account but also on account of the vehement outcry and insurrectionary threats against him for having left Ziglag so defenseless that the families of his men fell an easy prey to the enemy (1Sam. 30:5). Under the pressure of such a widespread calamity, the spirit of any leader could sink. Albeit, David encouraged himself in his God, and his faith supplied him with inward resources of comfort and divine energy. Brethren, be self motivated by the energy of the Holy Spirit within you. You will still win!
Give Attention to Divine Enquiry
Yes, the Voice of the Lord is full of majesty, but we must seek it out before we can find it. In Jeremiah 29:13, we read: “And ye shall seek me, and find me, when ye shall search for me with all your heart”. This is very important to observe as it was clearly evident in the life of David in this discourse. Divine divine direction is the mother of divine distinctions.
David sought the Lord, and God spoke to him through Abiathar the priest and ordered for an immediate pursuit of the plunderer Amalekites, with assurances that he would overtake and recover all. He heard from the Lord, otherwise his success would have been a mere dream. You must be wise to know what the will of God is, and thereafter, move forward by faith to recover all that the enemy stole from you.
Pursue, Overtake to Recover All
Thinking that David and all his men of war were far away, the marauders deemed themselves perfectly secure, and they abandoned themselves to all manner of barbaric revelry. But, they were panic-stricken when David showed up in their camp. A great slaughter ensued, and the people as well as the booty taken from Ziklag was recovered, besides a great amount of spoil which they had collected in a wide, freebooting excursion.
Pursuit is the clearest and most credible evidence of desire! Don’t spare the free-ranging despoilers of destiny around you. Pursue them with greatest eagerness of faith, showing up in their camps through prayers, and taking back whatever they stole from you. You have the authority of sonship and the backup of the Holy Spirit in your favour. You won’t fail, in Jesus Name.
Let Go, and Let God
It is wisdom to know that some people are allowed to be part of your history, but not a part of your destiny. David learnt this early enough, so he refused to be discouraged but remained focused and resolute when some of his men were dropping off on the paths of pursuit.
The bank of the stream at Besor offered a convenient rest to the soldiers, who, through fatigue, were unable to continue the pursuit, and they backed away from their military duties without permission (awols). But, David remained magnanimous in it all. He forgave these deserters, and he even shared parts of booties of recovery with them.
Friend, learn to forgive and release yourself of any encumbrance and offense: it is sign of obedience to God, and it’s a sure secret of enduring recovery. Be good also to all men, out of them could arise your helper of destiny. The Egyptian slave, the 200 faint-hearted soldiers and the Elders of Israel benefited from the large-heartedness of David. And, it paid off, handsomely!
In conclusion, please keep in mind that it will take God to recover all! (Joel 2:23-28). Anybody can sing and anybody can dance, but only God determines who becomes the super-star. And, until you know the difference between the ‘store’ and the ‘Source’, you will always run out of stock. God cannot be an option; He is always the Priority Matter. Without Him, any temporary hustle can remain a permanent life struggle. You must internalize these basics and run to God; thereafter, the whole world will run after you.
This new month, you will recover all, and your victory will no longer be tucked away, in Jesus Name. Amen. Happy Sunday.
