International Monetary Fund has projected that Nigeria’s government gross debt to Gross Domestic Product ratio will rise to 42 per cent by 2026 from 35.7 per cent in 2021. IMF said this in the October 2021 Fiscal Monitor Report published on its website. It said the country’s gross debt-to-GDP ratio would increase from 35.7 per cent in 2021 to 36.9 per cent in 2022, 37.7 per cent in 2023, 39.1 per cent in 2024 and 40.6 per cent in 2025.
