Nigeria will start a mass Covid-19 vaccination campaign later this week, aiming to inoculate half of its targeted population by the end of January, government officials said. Africa's most-populous country has a goal to vaccinate 111 million people to reach herd immunity. Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) says over 12 million Nigerians are experiencing hunger owing to insecurity and the Covid pandemic. David Tsokar, FAO communications officer, said this in a statement on Friday. Tsokar said FAO arrived at the conclusion based on an analysis conducted in October in 20 states. Federal government has increased the prices of both single-phase and three-phase prepaid electricity meters. Nigerian Electricity Regulatory Commission (NERC) announced this in a circular dated November 11, 2021. The new prices, according to the circular, will take effect from November 15. The circular titled ‘Review of the unit price of end-use meters under the Meter Asset Provider and National Mass Metering Regulations’ was addressed to managing directors, all electricity distribution companies and all meter asset providers.
