President Muhammadu Buhari has returned to Abuja from London, United Kingdom.

His plane landed at Nnamdi Azikiwe International Airport at about 7 pm.

Mr Buhari was in london for medical reasons on the request of his doctor, the presidency said.

A tweet from the handle of the Presidency; @NGRPresident said “@MBuhari this evening returned to Abuja”.

Buhari left Abuja on Tuesday on a four-day medical trip to UK.

He had stayed in London for two days last week while returning from Washington, United States, where he met with President Donald Trump.

A statement by a presidential spokesperson, Mr Garba Shehu, on Monday said, “In the course of the technical stop-over for aircraft maintenance in London on his way back from Washington last week, the president had a meeting with his doctor.”

Shehu said the doctor requested “the president to return for a meeting which he agreed to do.”

The spokesperson said the president was expected to return to Nigeria on Saturday.

He returned a day earlier.
