For if by one man's offence death reigned by one; much more they which receive abundance of grace and of the gift of righteousness shall reign in life by one, Jesus Christ ~ Romans 5:17.
Introduction:
Man was created to reign over all creation, and to dominate over all circumstances of life. He was, so to speak, the de facto paramount ruler of the then world, under God. Whatever he called any situation or thing, that was the name thereof. And, for as long as he stood by the Word of God, man's throne was preserved. But, as soon as he violated the Word, he lost it.
Happily, through the incredible love of God which was demonstrated by the act of redemption, the dominion that was lost in Adam is now restored in Christ Jesus (1 Corinthians 15:45). Hence, we are now back on the dominion platform to reign as kings (Revelation 5:9-10).
To reign in life with Christ means to exercise dominion, to rule and have control over all situations of life – sin, Satan, diseases, fear, oppression, poverty and death. It also connotes a sense of enjoying the benefits of divine provisions, taking our stands and exercising authority over devils as a people who have tasted true freedom in Christ Jesus (John 8:32,36).
Reigning in life is not an optional-extra for God’s people. It is a privileged position of honour and dignity as well as a call to kingdom service and responsibility. Certainly, we would be disappointing God if we refuse to reign as such.
The moment you accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you were actually born-again into a kingdom of kings and priests. From then on, your mission as an ambassador of God’s kingdom is to reign with Christ, insisting on the rule of heaven here on earth and standing against all agents of darkness, unquestionably.
However, you know that it is possible to be a prince and never sit on the throne. Until a prince gets in line and possesses an adequate grasp of the variables of enthronement, he may never mount the throne. You must “vitally” ascend your spiritual throne through a proper understanding of your new status in Christ Jesus before you can reign as a king and accomplish your missions on earth.
Ascending Your Throne
There is always a king in every calling in life, and God is ever pleased to see His people take over completely in the significant fields of life, because the price was paid for us to reign in life. He is always eager to raise His people to a place of distinction and envy (1 Samuel 2:8). Hence, it is considered an evil thing for God’s people to live under the circumstances of life (Ecclesiastes 10:5-7). We must clearly choose to reign in life with Christ.
The kings of Judah were figures of Christ, the anointed One to whom God gave the chief government of all things. Hence, the throne of David was referred to as “the throne of the kingdom of the Lord” (1Chronicles 28:5). Also, in 1Chronicles 29:23, we are told that Solomon sat on “the throne of the Lord”, which infers that God sets up thrones and establishes them for His own pleasure.
This position of scriptures above is equally valid for the Christian believers today (Revelation 1:5-6). We were made for the throne, and we must never say no to it. In fact, the earlier we begin to reflect this “throne-reality” in our day-to-day living, the better for our destinies on our earthly journeys.
Naturally, it is kings that hold the rights and wield the dominion powers to rule and dictate events, and this is equally true of the spirit realm. If you refuse to dominate, you become dominated upon and oppressed. If you refuse to rule, you become overruled by circumstances you do not understand and may even be unable to control. It is always better to be the “head” and not the “tail”.
Moreover, the dividends of supernatural enthronement are very attractive: unparalleled distinctions, health, wealth, empowerment for victory over the enemies, and so on (1 Chronicles 29:23-25). It gives an all-time advantage, therefore, to identify the major enemies of your enthronement, to enable you keep effective guards against them (Hosea 4:6; 2 Samuel 5:17).
Some of these enemies include: slothfulness, foolishness, immaturity, emotional attachment to the past, present challenges, negative attitudes and fear of the unknown. Albeit, we should always remember that commitment is the price of attainment. Thrones are never accessed without wisdom (Proverb 8:15). They are reserved for sons, not babies (Galatians 4:1). Push harder and God will make you better.
Driving for Approval To Reign In Life
One major scriptural demand that guarantees your enthronement is determination (1 Corinthians 16:13). Determination is the seed-plot of realization. Armies may conquer nations, but no force on earth is strong enough to subdue a determined soul. Be determined to reign in life!
Besides, maintaining relevance in the course of advancing God’s kingdom or joining hands with others to establish God’s dynasty is another essential ingredient of supernatural enthronement on earth. This you can do through your acts of faith, personal evangelism, giving, and being actively engaged in all forms of ambassadorial support for the Church (2 Samuel 7:13; 1 Chronicles 17:11-14).
However, by all counts, the most indispensable essential component for supernatural enthronement is our capability to fight in the strength of the anointing of the Holy Spirit (Isaiah 10:27; 1 Samuel 2:10). With the Holy Ghost anointing, you are approved to win and reign any day. This was what David encountered after he met Samuel, and everything about him became regal from that point on (1Samuel 16:13; Psalms 89:20).
Please note that yesterday’s anointing may not be sufficient for the challenges of today. Fresh anointing is certainly required for any on-time enthronement. Thereafter, you naturally become a man that cannot be ignored, and you excel against all odds to fulfill your mission on the earth. With all your getting, if Satan must not run you dry, please get the anointing of the Holy Ghost.
Friends and brethren, let’s remain encouraged no matter what Satan does in our world today! He’s simply overstretching his luck with the same spiritual antics he initiated ages ago when he rebelled against God’s authority (Revelation 12:7). Never let down your dignity, even if he raises the dusts of battle against you. Just keep on insisting on the rule of heaven, charging forth with authority from the throne of grace.
Keep in mind that Satan lost that epic battle then, and consequently, your dominion is unassailable today, since Jesus Christ reigns in you. All those fighting against your throne are merely engaging in a lost battle, and they must lose their faces. You will not be decimated. Your throne will not be abdicated, neither will it be subsumed by lesser powers. You will fulfill purpose in Jesus Name. Amen. Happy Sunday!
