God shall bless us; and all the ends of the earth shall fear him ~ Psalms 67:7.
Introduction:
No matter the level of glory you have attained in life, there are still many vacancies ahead of you. This is not a letdown but an assurance that promotion is still possible for you. For as long as the earth lasts, no matter what, you should never condone any level-identity syndrome in your destiny.
God takes special delight in the continuous progress and the wholistic prosperity of His people (Deuteronomy 1:5-8; Psalms 35:27; 3 John 1:2). Besides, our prosperity is a major tool for His covenant establishment (Deuteronomy 8:18; Zechariah 1:17). Hence, God’s plan for His people is not just ordinary success, but good success (Joshua 1:8). We all must constantly aspire to embrace this truth in all ramifications.
Any mature adult who has experienced or seen instances of people passing through barriers in life is already familiar with what we call “breakthrough”, an act of moving beyond an obstacle.
Ordinarily, a breakthrough describes an important development or advancement in knowledge or techniques, which could be sudden and dramatic, in any sphere. Breakthroughs often breed notable successes in life.
Humans generally progress incrementally by building bit-by-bit on previous accomplishments, to gradually improve our world. But there are also some incredible breakthrough moments, seismic shifts, as we regularly see in science and technology, that change the way we think and define what the future will look like.
Such breakthroughs bring changes that are huge, dramatic and abrupt, and can be referred to as quantum leaps, which are truly transformative moments where something completely new comes into existence. Normally, it could not be undone; it is a fearful breakthrough of a lifetime!
“Fearful” in this context prefixes the fact that this supernatural breakthrough, which only the El-Shaddai God offers to His people, is quite humongous, very great, extreme in glory, and truly awe-inspiring. And, to be called as privy to such moments, partaking in them or being involved in making them happen, is a divine honour.
In the Biblical history of God’s ways, whenever God intervenes on behalf of His people, it is always frightening, so to speak. When He commanded Israel to march straight to Canaan, His mighty acts of deliverance from the holding-down claws of the Egyptians were apt to generate reverence in their own hearts, and to cause fear in the hearts of the Egyptians. Just think about it: the burning bush, the plagues, including the simultaneous death of all first born among the Egyptians, etc.
Even after their exodus from the borders of Egypt, where they were in captivity, oppression, shame and inferiority, God didn’t stop giving them fearful breakthroughs — the parting of the Red Sea, manna from heaven, the fall of Jericho, etc — knowing that they were not yet where they ought to be.
Fearful breakthroughs have always been God’s original intention for His people (Genesis 9:2). And today, He is still very deliberate about it, to drive His fear into the hearts of our enemies until we arrive at our spiritual Canaan (Exodus 15:16; Deuteronomy 2:25; 11:25).
The Beginning of Fearful Breakthroughs
Many people had lived as big failures, in fearful poverty, tattered penury and great sorrow just because they failed to realize that greatness has a beginning. They despised their beginnings, missed their essential ingredients of greatness, and consequently, they died in wretchedness.
Life unfolds in stages, but what you put at the early stages of your life is crucial to who you eventually become. Never despise your beginning just because you think it is small (Job 8:7). Great endings are products of good beginnings.
Most great things usually appear small at the beginning. Jesus Christ whose name rings bells, and means so much to many people and to all great civilizations throughout the world today was actually born in a manger, to a little known Carpenter. Little can become much when God is in it.
Most importantly, we should realize that fearful breakthroughs can only be powered by fearful blessings. And, one of the ways to attract fearful blessings is by giving God our real and unqualified praise at all times.
Praise is a dependable spiritual platform for an encounter with fearful blessings (Psalm 67:5-7). Praise is a spiritual way man blesses God (Psalm 34:1). And, you cannot bless God and not be blessed by Him in return, for whatever good thing any man does, the same he shall receive from the Lord (Ephesians 6:8).
Repositioning Ourselves for Fearful Breakthroughs
Events are forced to be, not just as man wishes but as God disposes at His desired time. And when the set time comes, the music starts. It is called vertical breakthrough!
Your tomorrow will come, but please note that it actually starts today. God has not yet finished with you, therefore, catch the vision of fearful breakthroughs right now. The place where vision ends is where deterioration begins (1 Kings 9:1; 11:1-8). By all right means, please keep the vision running, you will soon thank God that you did.
Stop limiting God and stop making excuses or blaming others. Decide what you want out of life, choose who you wish to be, and accept responsibility for your life (Deuteronomy 30:8-10).
Never listen to frightened fellows; they may be the real enemies of your breakthrough and may even eventually derail you. Develop your people knowledge. Understand your environment. Walk in wisdom and understanding.
Working with a blunt iron is working as a “fool set in dignity” (Ecclesiastes 10:6-10). Be wise in communication, and walk by Bible principles only. Open your eyes and maximize opportunities. Go for excellence.
When there is no merit, half is gone; when there is no help, all is gone. Ever look up to God for His unfailing help. Be regular in the house of God (Psalm 122:1). Organize yourself out of the box of limitation by sowing seeds and giving in obedience. Serve God; He pays handsomely!
Never forget that God has more spectacular things in store for you. Be sure you readily walk in covenant with Him through obedient services and a general lifestyle of sacrifice (Amos 3:3; John 8:29). Start out today through discipline and a total reliance upon the Holy Spirit (1 Samuel 10:6-7).
Brethren, I prophesy that the music of fearful breakthroughs and great joy is starting for you, today. You have watched men and women celebrate and being celebrated, people will start celebrating you too.
Just in the same way that the birth of Moses was unpreventable, your fearful breakthroughs will be unstoppable. God’s mercy will overtake you, the earth shall yield for you her increase and the goodness of the Lord will overwhelm you.
Fearful breakthroughs happened before for a company of the early disciples (Acts 4:1-31). Today, the Lord God Almighty will visit you too, and put a broad smile on your face. You will dazzle your generation and out-stand your peers. Friends, please seize this moment and receive fearful breakthroughs, in Jesus Name. Happy Sunday!
