I will go before thee, and make the crooked places straight: I will break in pieces the gates of brass, and cut in sunder the bars of iron ~ Isaiah 45:2.
Introduction:
Inside every man is a complex ability that can make him as invincible as God his Maker (Psalm 8:4-6). We were created as replicas of divinity, and endowed with the innate ability to stretch ourselves beyond any limitation to live in perpetual dominion (Genesis 1:26-28). Simply put, we were made to be indomitable!
None of us was created to be curtailed, gagged or restrained, and none was made inferior to any other man, dead or alive. We were divinely blessed with the ability to achieve the impossible and do the extraordinary. But, for the invisible hands that limit and obstruct, each one of us should be better and stronger than we are today. And, until these limitations are defined and conquered, our paths to noble accomplishments may never become even.
Ordinarily, a limit is a point at which something stops being possible or progressive. Limitation is like a concrete ceiling, controlling how far somebody or something can go, or what they can do or be. In general, it is in the nature of limitations to obstruct progress in life, especially when they are spiritual and therefore invisible to the physical eyes.
Limitations can make going great in life extremely difficult, if not totally impossible. They can separate born stars from starry achievements in life. They can soil great reputations, steal recognition from men and women of renown, and can even make life very unproductive no matter how hard the victims labour.
Limiters could be so strong as to frustrate well thought out plans and resist even well calibrated strides, resulting in stagnation, retardation and frustration. Conquering limits should therefore be very crucial to men and women with the Bible dreams of reaching lofty heights. We all should be well determined to crush barriers whichever way they manifest, more so that life does not always give you what you ‘want’, but what you ‘war’ for.
Understanding the Burden of Limitations
If you have ever found yourself holding back on something you ought to do or really wanted to do, you are already familiar with the yoke of limitation (Romans 7:13-20).
God wanted to give the children of Israel a land flowing with milk and honey, and they also wanted to have it. But, when Moses their leader sent a delegate to spy the land so as to know how to conquer and possess it, they felt the giants in the land were too strong for them and that they were like grasshoppers in comparison with the people (Numbers 13:26-33).
At that stage, there was nothing anyone could do to help them, until Joshua and Caleb reorientated them by changing the negative narratives, saying, “we are well able”.
More often than not, the spirit of limitation is usually lodged in the lobes of the human mind. We become limited each time we restrict God and attempt to confine Him to the corners of our lives by what we say or do, and how we feel (Psalms 78:40-44). Each time we think or say 'impossible' to a covenant promise, we deny the power of God’s Word in our lives.
Happily, we can still break the limits and win through in life (Isaiah 54:1-5). We can still conquer our limits, ascend like the eagle and soar in dominion if we purpose in our hearts, under God (Luke 1:37).
Nothing can stop a man of purpose in life, not even the devil, problems nor oppositions. Only you can stop yourself from advancements in life. But, if you opt to cruise through the limitations of life, it is imperative that you engage certain spiritual keys.
Keys to Living a Life of No Limits
The first necessary key to engage in order to live free of limitations is the key of a covenant walk with God (Amos 3:3). Certainly, triumphing in life and enjoying the good life that God offers us in Christ Jesus are covenant affairs (John 10:10; 3 John 1:2).
Covenant is the main reason why God will work to help any man (Exodus 2:24-25). Covenant is stronger than any climate or circumstances, and when a blessed man encounters any adverse situation on the pathway to destiny, the situation will change identity (Genesis 12:10; 13:1-3). While others suffer, covenant people will still have great stories of God’s mercy to tell (Genesis 47:18, 27).
Beloved, it does not matter what your peculiar situation is like presently. There may be some serious issues in your life right now, with invisible limiters gagging and silent murderers shooting their arrows. Never fret: if you are you keeping true to God’s covenant and maintaining His presence in your life, the covenant will eventually speak up, and everything will soon end in praise.
Verily, when a man is in covenant with God and carries the presence of the LORD, no matter the negative circumstances that may come his way, he will always overcome and cruise through excellently (Exodus 33:12-14).
Divine covenants are strong, forceful and inviolate! They are also binding and perpetual, because the Spirit of God watches over them and empowers them (Haggai 2:5; Isaiah 59:21; Zechariah 4:6).
Under the banner of the Holy Spirit, God’s covenant people always win through. Jacob even had access to double money at hard times, and was still able to eat imported food at moments of great famine (Genesis 43:1,12).
Meanwhile, our covenant relationship with God will thrive better, as in any other relationships, on the principles of deposit and withdrawal (John 8:29). We must constantly oil our covenant position in Christ Jesus through constant fellowship with God, quality kingdom service, a lifestyle of faith and ardent devotion and a sincere sacrificial love for God (2 Kings 3:26-27).
Moreover, a lifestyle of prayer and praise will equally attract the divine power required to cruise through the limitations of life. It was this key that Paul and Silas engaged when they were arrested, flogged, and unjustly imprisoned in Philippi (a former city in present-day Greece), for exercising themselves in the power of the gospel. When they prayed and sang praises unto God, the prison doors opened supernaturally and they became free again (Acts 16:25-31).
In conclusion, our actions of faith and obedience are very crucial to the victories we enjoy over the various limitations of life (Hebrews 4:2; 10:35). The sons of the Prophet in 2 Kings 6:1-7 took positive actions, and a new dimension of God’s power sprung up to crush their limitations.
Brethren, it is time for action. Not just interest, but commitment! Only hot-liners will have a chance in this end time. May you never miss it again, in Jesus Name. Amen. Happy Sunday!
