Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us ~ Luke 1:78.
Introduction:
We are in a peculiarly messy time in the history of the world right now. Things that should not be heard of are becoming daily occurrences, with many fellow citizens of the earth increasingly losing their humanity and gaining notoriety and ascendancy.
Just think of the global terrorists, the godless humanists, the unashamed political usurpers, the kidnappers, the heartless armed robbers, the dupes, the hypocrites, the fake prophets and the fake “everything”, etc. The list of our present day absurdities is almost open-ended!
However, this is not the sound of an alarmist, but a clarion call for the nations and her peoples to return to the Almighty God, our Maker, and allow Him to touch us and turn our hopeless situations around.
I am utterly convinced the Lord is still trying to break through to His people as ever (Jeremiah 29:10-14). There are evidences that God is presently opening the heavens by the power of His Spirit to come down and visit us in our hydra-headed plight.
God’s presence is a major thing that we should aspire to have, and be determined to keep in our lives. In fact, our true success in homes and businesses is dependent on how much of God we have in our lives; even the quality of our Christian faith equally depends on how much of heaven we have in our hearts.
Jesus Christ secured an open heaven before He commenced His work on earth. Yes, He came from there, but He also maintained a constant touch with heaven to the end. We also must strive to position ourselves to enjoy the gracious presence of our King and His glorious visitation from above.
When God Visits His People
When God visits, He leaves behind gracious testimonies of His power in our lives (Luke 10:1-9). His visitation always brings about sweet manifestations of His goodness in the lives of the visited. God’s visitation is the only valid answer to every form of frustration and stagnation in life.
No matter how difficult any circumstance might be, when God steps in, His glory changes the storyline. Once He stepped into Goshen, His mighty acts, signs and wonders became inevitable, and He miraculously brought Israel out of Egypt.
It is safe to say, therefore, that God’s visitation does not leave any man on the spot where He meets him. His glorious visitation terminates satanic activities in the lives of men, especially in situations that have been long standing and have defied all human solutions.
Several years ago, after all other efforts had yielded no positive result, we were requested to pray for a woman who had been afflicted with a strange sickness for several weeks. When I saw her, I became very agitated in my spirit because of the helpless state I met there. She was bedfast, but then, I had an assurance within me that God was going to help her.
After few words of faith and encouragement, we offered a short prayer to the Lord for her healing. At that moment, there was nothing to suggest that anything spectacular had happened. But, by the following day, she had become very whole and agile.
Later she shared a public testimony that, in an open vision the night after the deliverance prayer, she saw someone that looked much like me, dressed as a medical doctor. She said the “visitor” administered some medical processes on her and also made her to swallow some pills, and as she became fully conscious, she found she had fully recovered.
Apparently, an angel of the Lord had visited her to carry out our order for her healing and deliverance, and after that supernatural visitation, the rest was a story of God’s glory. Alleluia!
God’s visitation fences off attacks of the devil and destroys the plans of the wicked. Whenever God shows up, Satan has no choice but to bow out. At His appearance, darkness in all its shades naturally disappears (Luke 1:78-79).
Again, when God formally steps into our lives, He provokes for us heaven-on-earth experiences. He paid Solomon a formal visit, and thereafter he was blessed with unusual wisdom, a long life of peace, and staggering dimensions of wealth (1 Kings 3:5-13).
When God visits His people, supernatural breakthroughs occur, prophecies are fulfilled and age-long troubles are terminated (Genesis 21:1). When He visits, seasons are shifted, new things are brought to birth, the enemies are defeated, and God’s people begin to enjoy instant restoration (Jeremiah 29:10). Above all, Jesus gets all the glory (Luke 1:68,78).
How to Position Ourselves for Divine Visitation
God moves on our behalf only on the basis of His mercy towards us, and on the grounds of Jesus’ shed blood, not because we deserve it. In other words, we cannot purchase or earn God’s visitation.
However, we can position ourselves to enjoy supernatural visitation through a seasoned relationship with God. We must get to know Him and the beauty of His timing for our lives in order to become rightly positioned for His visitation.
Every problem is time-tagged. No matter how long it lasts, it is not permitted to be forever (Proverbs 23:18). You may have been in that situation for a very long time, but rest assured that God will visit you and your expectations shall not be cut off in Jesus Name.
Abraham and Sarah waited 25years to have Isaac. The man at the pool of Bethesda waited for 38years to be healed. But, the joy of divine appearance paled out their long waits. Wait on God, my friend, and very soon, your change shall appear, suddenly.
We must crave to discover the mind and the plan of God in all our ways through His Word. Discovery is a veritable pathway to recovery, and this is very true even in our desire to have God visit us in our situations.
Jeremiah prophesied that the children of Israel would be in captivity for seventy years (Jeremiah 29:10-14). But, it was when Daniel discovered that prophecy while they were still in Babylon that he began to pray, and God set His people loose from the captivity. Before then, Israel had continued to beat about the bush.
Supernatural visitation is greatly provoked whenever God finds faith that is excited through positive actions. That was the secret the great faith patriarchs and matriarchs of old — Abraham, Issac, Jacob, Moses, Paul, Peter, Ester, Deborah, Dorcas etc. — traded with (Hebrews 11:28; Acts 3:1-10). And, that is what we must never ignore or neglect today.
Friends, it is not enough to know what God has promised, we must also recognize His plan and be ready to call upon Him in ardent prayers, seeking Him with all our hearts and requesting Him to perform what He has promised. I see God visiting you today, in Jesus Name. Happy Sunday!
