Hearing of petitions against Tinubu’s election starts May 8

Hearing of the petitions challenging Bola Tinubu’s declaration as President-elect has been fixed for Monday, May 8 by the Presidential Election Petitions Court. The legal team of the All Progressive Congress (APC) candidate Tinubu said the hearing is a pre-hearing session. Suspended Adamawa REC arrested, Police say

Hudu Yunusa-Ari, suspended Resident Electoral Commissioner (REC) of Adamawa State, has been arrested. Muyiwa Adejobi, Force Public Relations Officer, confirmed Yunusa-Ari’s arrest on Tuesday. He said some of the persons who played roles in the controversy surrounding the election were also being probed. Ambrose Owuru, presidential candidate of the Hope Democratic Party (HDP) in the 2019 elections, has filed a suit seeking to stop the inauguration of Bola Tinubu as president. All Progressives Congress (APC) has dissolved its Presidential Campaign Council (PCC) set up to undertake the just concluded presidential elections.
