Two judges at the Court of Appeals on Thursday dropped terrorism charges against separatist leader Nnamdi Kanu that had been brought against him by the government. The last of the three judges at the court was still reading their ruling. President Muhammadu Buhari on Wednesday swore in Olukayode Ariwoola as the substantive chief justice of Nigeria (CJN). The swearing in ceremony took place before the weekly federal executive council (FEC) meeting at the state house, Abuja. Nigeria’s oil output continued to fall in September as some onshore production ground almost to a halt, according to government data. The West African country produced a daily average of 1.14 million barrels of crude oil and condensate –- a light hydrocarbon -– last month, about 42,000 barrels fewer than in August, figures published by the Nigerian Upstream Petroleum Regulatory Commission show.
