‘Oversight or totally intentional? You decide.....’ one viewer commented

BBC Wales viewers were left in hysterics after a guest left a rather unfortunate item in the background of her interview.

Yvette Amos appeared on news programme BBC Wales on Tuesday (26 January) evening to discuss her experiences of unemployment during the pandemic.

However, those watching at home found their eyes being drawn to the shelf behind Amos, which as well as holding books and board games contained a large pink penis.

The image was shared on Twitter by journalist Grant Tucker, who tweeted: “Perhaps the greatest guest background on the BBC Wales news tonight. Always check your shelves before going on air.”

Twitter branded the picture hilarious, with one viewer commenting: “Absolutely screamed the house down watching this live last night. Oversight or totally intentional? You decide.....”

The clip also divided the internet on the important issue of whether the item was actually a sex toy or a novelty sculpture.

“Everyone has a dildo on their bookshelf, don’t they?” one Twitter user joked.

“I'm guessing novelty candle. Not that it helps much,” another wrote.

One tweet read: “So very very funny – sex toy or sex art or actual toy – who says the Beeb are stuffy?”

“I love the men getting so excited at the assumption that she didn’t check. Whoops! Like she for real stores her *actual* dildo on a book case,” another commenter argued.
