Gunmen kill Bauchi lawmaker, abduct wives, daughter

Gunmen have killed a member of Bauchi state house of assembly, Mr Musa Baraza, and abducted his two wives and one-year-old daughter.

The incident happened at his residence in Dass local government area of Bauchi.

Confirming the incident to the media on Friday via telephone, Mr Ahmad Wakili, spokesman of the Bauchi police command, said they are currently on the trail of the suspects.

Wakili said no arrest has been made so far.

“Yes, the lawmaker was killed by unknown gunmen, they abducted his wives and his one-year-old daughter,” he said.

“Presently, the police are on the trail of the suspects but no arrest has been made so far.”

Until his death, Baraza represented Dass constituency in the state house of assembly.
