Former Super Eagles defender and one-time player of both Stationery Stores and Shooting Stars, Mr Ajibade Babalade died on Friday. Babalade passed on after suffering cardiac arrest. He was aged 48. His death came as he was reportedly being taken to University College Hospital in Ibadan. He was survived by a wife and three children who are reportedly based in the United States. A former goalkeeper of Nigeria’s Flying Eagles, Mr John Felagha, is dead. He died in Senegal on Sunday, according to the Nigeria Football Federation. He was aged 26. Michael Ojo, a Nigerian basketball player who previously played for Red Star Belgrade, died at the age of 27 during a training session in Serbian capital on Friday, the club said. “We are deeply saddened by the news”, Red Star’s spokesperson, Mr Igor Vujicin told media.
