All Progressives Congress has set up a reconciliation committee to meet with aggrieved presidential candidates of other political parties who contested in last Saturday’s presidential election.

The committee, according to the Governor of Ondo State, Rotimi Akeredolu, is to resolve their displeasure and ensure all parties involved work together with the President-elect, Bola Tinubu for the growth of Nigeria.

Independent National Electoral Commission had on Wednesday declared Tinubu winner of the February 25 presidential election.

Akeredolu disclosed this in a statement released by his Chief Press Secretary, Richard Olatunde, on Wednesday.

He said, “The President-elect has set up committees to meet with the gentlemen who contested in the election for us to start the healing process. I belong to one of the committees. We are going to meet them and appeal to them so that we can work together.

He also described the election as the freest ever in Nigeria.

“This is an election that was not padded. People who voted were counted, that is the way I see it. It’s not one which shows millions of votes. You can see the candidates, everyone won 12 states each, it has never been like that before.”

He appreciated the residents of the state for their support in the election and commended them for voting for the candidate of the party.

He described the support as attestation and love the people of the state have for his administration.

He said, “Ondo People are progressives and we will always at least be on the side of progressivism. From the onset we are at the forefront of clamour for a Southern President and so we have to put everything we had into it and we got support that is why we were able to make it.”
