President Muhammadu Buhari has approved additional N8.9bn as Covid-19 hazard allowance for all healthcare workers.

Chairman Presidential Task Force on Covid-19, Mr Boss Mustapha, disclosed this on Thursday during PTF press briefing.

He also said that in addition, the President will also give the procurement of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for hospitals and isolation centres priority.

Mustapha said Mr Buhari attended ECOWAS Heads of States and Government meeting in Niamey, Niger Republic on Monday where the issues of Covid-19 were discussed extensively.

He added that as the ECOWAS Champion on Covid-19, the President informed the meeting on how Nigeria was tackling the pandemic in order to flatten the curve, including steps being taken to push a regional agenda.
