Daniel Agbolade, Ibadan

Former governor of Oyo State and governorship candidate of Action Democratic Party (ADP), Mr Adebayo Alao-Akala, Tuesday said the state needs experienced hand like him as next governor for the people of the state to reap real dividends of democracy.

He said being the only  tested and trusted hand among all those presently contesting the governorship seat, his.experience as a former governor qualified him as best for the job come May 29.

He said this in Ibadan, the state capital, while speaking at a meeting of all ADP candidates for this year's general elections chaired by the state Chairman of the party, Mr. Folaranmi Owolabi.

According to him, experience counts a lot when it comes to administering a state like Oyo, stating that without the needed experience, no matter how well read one may be, one  cannot perform as experience is the best teacher.

He said, "Let me tell you that in Oyo State, we don't need inexperience person as a governor come May 29. Inexperienced person cannot be a good governor for the state. So, don't vote in an inexperienced politician as the next governor of Oyo State. We must not give Oyo State to an inexperienced hand."

He added that come May 29, ADP will form masses oriented government in which the people of the state will be made to benefit positively from the state government policy and programmes unlike the present hardship imposed on the state by All Progressives Congress (APC) led administration in the state.

He said the present administration of Governor Abiola Ajimobi has no plan for the state and has been experimenting with series of unfriendly and anti-people policies and programmes thereby creating untold hardships across the state.

ADP state Chairman said the party remains the only party to beat in the coming general elections in the state. stating that by the grace of God and the good people of the state,  ADP will win the state in this year's elections.

He then charged members of the party to join hands with candidates and party leaders in ensuring victory of ADP in the elections.

The meeting was attended by the party's governorship, deputy governorship, Senatorial, House of Representatives, House of Assembly candidates and party leaders, among many others.
