Christophe Galtier has revealed that Vincent Enyeama’s sustained absence from the LOSC Lille team is due to a problem between the player and the club’s owners.
The current Lille boss was filmed during an impromptu exchange with the club’s fans this weekend, and, in footage shared by France Football, reveals why the Nigeria keeper has been isolated this term.
“It’s a problem between Enyeama and the club, that’s the bottom line,” Galtier began, when questioned about the keeper’s continuing absence.
“It’s a problem between the club management and Enyeama.”
The coach refused to elaborate on the exact nature of the tension between the two parties, although his response would appear to suggest that The Cat’s return ought not be expected any time soon.
Enyeama hasn’t featured for Lille since he returned from a knee injury in November, and has been limited to turning out for the club’s B side.

They currently find themselves 19th in the French top flight, having taken 29 points from 34 matches. With four games to go, they’re four points behind Toulouse in 17th, but level with Troyes who currently occupy the relegation playoff spot.
Enyeama’s fall from grace has been startling, and looks certain to have denied him the chance to make an international comeback with the Super Eagles at the World Cup.
The 35-year-old made 32 outings for LOSC last term.
