Buhari reappoints FRSC boss, others; makes fresh appointments

President Muhammadu Buhari on Tuesday approved the renewal of tenure of Corps Marshal of Federal Road Safety Corps, Mr Boboye Oyeyemi.

With the approval, Oyeyemi will be spending his second and final term of four years with effect from July 24, 2018.

The approval was contained in a statement made available to journalists by Permanent Secretary (General Services Office), Office of Secretary to the Government of the Federation, Mr Olusegun Adekunle.

According to Adekunle, the President also renewed the appointment of Chief Medical Director of National Hospital, Abuja, Mr Jafaru Momoh, for a second and final term of four years with effect from July 5, 2018.

Medical Director of National Orthopedic Hospital, Enugu State, Mr Nwadinigwe Uwatoronye, also got a second and final term of four years with effect from May 30 while Director-General of Energy Commission of Nigeria, Mr Eli Bala, also got a second and final term of five years with effect from May 6, 2018.

Director-General of National Board for Technology Incubation, Dr Mohammed Jibrin, got a second and final term of four years with effect from April 9, 2018 while Executive Vice Chairman of National Agency for Science and Engineering Infrastructure, Mr Mohammed Haruna, also got a second and final term of five years with effect from April 3, 2018.

Buhari also appointed Mr Ali Adamu as Provost of Federal College of Education (Technical), Gombe, Gombe State, for an initial period of four years with effect from May 25, 2018. Mr Yaya Adamu was also appointed as Medical Director of Federal Medical Centre, Keffi, Nasarawa State, for an initial period of four years with effect from April 1, 2018

The President also approved the appointment of Mr Yahaya Lawal as Senior Special Assistant to the President on Foreign Affairs and International Relations with effect from April 1, 2018.

Lawal replaced Mr Ahmed Abubakar, recently appointed the Director-General of National Intelligence Agency.

“The appointees were enjoined to live up to the high expectations of the public for prompt, conscientious and selfless service at all times.

“The President urged them to regard public offices as trust that should not be betrayed,” the statement read.
