FG releases economic recovery plan

The Federal Government has released its economic blueprint termed 'Economic Recovery and Growth Plan' (ERGP) which unveils a road map for the country's economic recovery growth and sustainable development. James Akpnadem, Media Adviser to Senator Udoma Udo Udoma, Minister of Budget and National Planning, announced this in a statement on Tuesday in Abuja. Acting President, Prof. Yemi Osinbajo, yesterday, said that construction work on the Lagos-Ibadan segment of the Kano rail project will be completed by December 2018. The Senate has passed a resolution directing the Nigerian Customs Service to halt its plan to penalise Nigerians who did not pay duties on their vehicles within one month. The resolution, on Tuesday, followed a motion by Deputy Leader, Senator Bala Na’Allah, who said the new Customs policy was “a serious matter”. At least, about 171 Nigerians stranded in Libya, were brought back to the country yesterday by Nigerian Emergency Management Agency (NEMA) in collaboration with International Organisation for Migration (IOM).
