Terror suspicion as 3 killed by truck driven into crowd in Swedish capital

A truck drove into a crowd on a shopping street and crashed into a department store in central Stockholm on Friday, killing three people and wounding eight in what the prime minister said appeared to be a terrorist attack. Part of central Stockholm was cordoned off and the area was evacuated, including the main train station. All subway traffic was halted on orders from the police. "Sweden has been attacked. FG recorded N3.21tn fiscal deficit in 2016, 86.9% on recurrent expenditure – CBN

The Federal Government recorded a fiscal deficit of N3.21tn in its operations last year, figures obtained from Central Bank of Nigeria revealed. The figures are contained in Financial Stability Report prepared the apex and released in Abuja on Wednesday. It stated that the fiscal deficit for the second half of the year, which was put at N1.47tn, was lower than the N1.75tn recorded in the first half of 2016. Court unfreezes Patience Jonathan’s $5.9m account

Federal High Court in Lagos, on Thursday, vacated its order which late last year froze the Skye Bank account of Mrs. Patience Jonathan, wife of ex-President Goodluck Jzonathan. The account had a balance of $5.9m at the period. In a ruling on Thursday, Justice Mojisola Olatoregun, set aside the ‘No-Debit Order’, which Economic and Financial Crimes Commission had earlier placed on the account on allegations that the $5.9m found in it was proceeds of crime. 50 Nigerians deported from eight European countries

Fifty Nigerians were, yesterday, deported from eight European countries over what Department of State Services, DSS, airport command said were immigration and drug-related offences. The latest deportees arrived Murtala Muhammed International Airport, MMIA, Lagos, on a chartered aircraft with flight number P6-6991 in the early hours of yesterday.
