NPFL: Plateau United get various punishments over violence
League Management Company (LMC) has come hard on former Nigeria League champions, Plateau United, for the crowd violence that greeted their opening game of the season. LMC in a statement on Tuesday said Plateau United were charged for breaching the Framework and Rules of NPFL during their Match Day 1 game vs FC Ifeanyiubah in Jos on Sunday. Plateau United failed to provide adequate security for match officials leading to some of its supporters and unidentified persons assaulting referees after the match. Nigeria beat South Africa to claim 9th AWCON trophy

Nigeria defeat Cameroon to qualify for AWCON final
Falcons of Nigeria on Tuesday defeated Three Lionesses of Cameroon to qualify for the final of 2018 African Women Cup Of Nations (AWCON). The match ended in penalties with Falcons winning 4-2. The highly competitive semi-final match in the Ghanaian stadium ended 0-0 after 90 minutes of football. An extra time of 30 minutes also produced no goal for either side.
