Buhari appoints Aisha’s biographer as ambassador

President Muhammadu Buhari has appointed Hajo Sani, an aide who wrote his wife’s biography, as ambassador and permanent delegate of Nigeria to the United Nations Educational Scientific and Cultural Organisation (UNESCO).

In a statement on Wednesday, Ben Bem Goong, director of press and public relations at ministry of education, said the appointment of Sani, senior special assistant on administration and women affairs to Aisha Buhari, the president’s wife, took effect on March 16.

This is coming less than a week after a biography titled, “Aisha Buhari: Being Different”, authored by Sani, was launched at the banquet hall of the presidential villa in Abuja.

Goong also noted that the president made other appointments in key establishments in the education sector.

Other appointed officials are John Okpako Enaohwo, chairman, governing board of National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja; Abdullahi A. Abba, pro-chancellor/chairman, governing council, Federal University of Health Sciences, Otukpo, Benue state; Idris Muhammad Bugaje, executive secretary, National Board For Technical Education (NBTE), Kaduna.

Also listed are Benjamin Ogbole Abakpa, executive secretary of National Senior Secondary Education Commission, (NSSEC), Abuja; Paulinus Chijikoke Okwelle, executive secretary, National Commission for Colleges of Education (NCCE), Abuja, and Ibrahim Muhammad, director/CEO, Nigerian Arabic Language Village, Ngala, Borno state.
