Jubilation in Northern states over Buhari’s re-election

Residents of Kaduna State as early as 4am took to the streets yesterday to celebrate the re-election of President Muhammadu Buhari.

They were dancing and chanting the ‘Sai baba’ slogan.

Motorcyclists were engaged in road shows.

In Jos, Plateau State, residents were on the streets for jubilation, advising the president to extend a hand of friendship to other opponents who lost the election.

Abdullahi Hashimu, who sells suya around British America and Abubakar Shettima described the president’s win as ordained by God; while Elizabeth Gambo who owns a road side restaurant along the Murtala Muhammed Way in Jos said: “We thank God as he is coming back but want things to change. We want the price of goods to fall.”

In Jigawa State, residents expressed happiness over Buhari’s re-election, while calling him to consolidate on his achievements of the last four years.

In Katsina State, home state of Buhari, residents were sighted jubilating just as imams of various mosques asked them to pray for the president.
