Aliyu mourns Kutigi, describes him as leading light of Nigerian Judiciary

Former governor of Niger state, Mr Babangida Aliyu has
described late Chief Justice of Nigeria (CJN), Mr Legbo Kutigi
as a leading Icon of Judiciary in Nigeria.

Aliyu, who lives next door to Kutigi in Minna, expressed sadness that the former CJN died when his service was needed the most, adding that Nigeria would sorely miss him.

He however said Nigerians are consoled by his selfless service to humanity.

The former governor through his Media Adviser, Mr. Israel A. Ebije said Kutigi was a man of proven knowledge in legal affairs adding
that his contribution has patriotically guided Nigeria on a path of honor on the bench in many spheres of national assignments.

According to the former governor, “I am honored to know the former CJN. He was always available each time his service was needed in Niger state. He was a man of integrity, fearless and patriotic. Kutigi will be missed by Nigerilites and Nigerians”.

He called for his immortalization, saying that the late Justice made
sure that the judiciary was truly independent. He said his leadership as CJN brought several reforms and direction in crucial national issues.

“Kutigi will be remembered for his contribution as chairman of
2014 National Conference. He said the outcome of the
constitution was deep and would one day be used to guide the nation towards the direction of peace, unity and progress.
