Send me on errand, Makinde tells Ibadan people

A Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial aspirant in Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde, was on Thursday, honoured by umbrella body of Ibadan associations, Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), with an award titled, ‘MOST PATRIOTIC IBADAN INDIGENE AWARD.'

A press statement signed by Coordinator, Strategy and Communication of the Seyi Makinde Campaign Organisation, said while receiving the award, Makinde said very few recognition could match the honour bestowed on him because charity begins at home.

He noted that for credible elders and leaders from Ibadanland to count him worthy of the honour, he has submitted himself to their collective wisdom and challenged them to send him on errand as he promised to be a worthy ambassador.

Makinde urged people of the state to remain steadfast, stating that even though weeping may last till night but joy cometh in the morning as said by the Lord.

The event which took place at Obafemi Awolowo Stadium (formerly Liberty Stadium), Ibadan, was witnessed by a host of dignitaries.

While presenting the award, foremost industrialist and former Minister of Industry, Mrs Onikepo Akande, described Makinde as a great achiever and unequal philanthropist with unbelievable humility who deserved the award.
