National Assembly, comprising Senate and House of Representatives, on Thursday adjourned plenary sessions till July 3, 2018.

The break, according to spokesmen of both chambers, was to enable legislators take part in the forthcoming Sallah celebration.

They added that legislative activities, especially plenary sessions, would be put on hold within the period of the break.

While announcing the break, both spokesmen used the opportunity to reel out the achievements of the legislative arm of government in three years of its inauguration.

They also thanked Nigerians and the media for their steadfastness and belief in the legislators.

"I want to tell you that the National Assembly is going on break to resume July 3. By 9th June, we will be three years. Let us acknowledge Nigerians and the media for the progress so far," House of Representatives spokesman, Mr Abdulrazaq Namdas, told newsmen during press briefing on Thursday.

The 8th Assembly was inaugurated on 9th June, 2015.
